So I been working on my own tool to try to make using game maker a little more productive. The main thing it's going to do is insert code snippets from a context menu or using a auto hot string. A autohotstring lets you type something out then the text is replaced by whatever you want. So for example if you type in draw_self_ahk then press space it replaces it with draw_sprite_ext(sprite_index, image_index, x, y, image_xscale, image_yscale, image_angle, image_blend, image_alpha);
Then there's another autohotstring I added so far that is keys_ahk var k_up = keyboard_check(vk_up) || keyboard_check(ord("W")); var k_down = keyboard_check(vk_down) || keyboard_check(ord("S")); var k_left = keyboard_check(vk_left) || keyboard_check(ord("A")); var k_right = keyboard_check(vk_right) || keyboard_check(ord("D"));
And you can also just insert these snippets without the hot string by just holding shift and pressing the f2 key for a context menu with all your snippets. I also made it so you can re run your last compiled project in game maker too from the context menu. I could probably add other tools or maybe links that could be useful later. LINKSGameMakerAHK 001.exe (program)GameMakerAHK 001.ahk (source)autohotkey's website (engine i used )So, I plan on adding maybe bullet code snippet, mabe a timer as well. I also plan on making it so you can just place your own snippets in too without having to use the source. But anyway, share your thoughts please

Interesting idea! I use AutoHotKey mainly for my text faces like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, but never really thought to use it for GML shortcuts. (You should also be able to hit F2 in the IDE to show a menu of default code snippets that you can access/modify via snippets.txt in the game's install directory.)
