So there's something about random generation that just tickles me silly.
I'm working on a very simple dungeon crawler, that has everything entirely randomly generated (within set parameters lol).
So here's a little work log of my progress thus far:
So I started out by having all of the "rooms" generated, with random wall sprites chosen. Then I moved on to creating a script that would randomly choose rooms to create, coming off of the middle room:--- And finally from what I've completed so far (only about 4 working hours) I had the background changed, and the floors tiled:Here's my current list of things to add:
[/font] [li] Add doors to connect the rooms[/li] [li] Add some variance to the floor tiles (the single color is very boring, and I have lots of matching tiles from the set)[/li] [/ul] I'll keep you guys updated as things progress!

Finished work on adding doors!
---- So I decided that I only wanted the corner rooms (top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right) to be accessible from the room above or below it. However, there are times when a corner room is created (like in the second image, top left) and the room above or below it is not. That is the only time a door is generated to access it from the side.
I decided to do it this way, because I believe if you have access to every room from every angle, it would be much to easy.
