I wouldn't expect since I got GM7 pro, I always got half off for upgrading. One time I used GM7 linece too many times so i had to get a new one. But ever since I just got discounts by upgrading. From 7, 8, 8.1, studio standard, and studio pro.
Yeah, I bought HTML5, iOS for $50, I paid $50 to upgrade to Studio Standard Edition, $50 to upgrade to pro, I bought the first humble bundle to get the andriod export, bought the 2nd one idk why, cuz what the heck might as well get the new universal windows export thing (if i'll ever use it). So yeah I'm a sucker for discounts and sales. lol.

Yeah, I hope they at least do something like "GMS2/GMS2 export modules are automatically 50% off if you have a valid license for GMS1" sort of deal. They can't just give everything away or they wouldn't make any money, but it'd be pretty nice if they could acknowledge that the people who bought it the first time 'round [did give them a lot of theirs.

Saw this on FB With that image, there is one big thing I would like to point out... Looking to the left, moving to the "code" block in the middle, they are connected by a node. This means they have implemented some sort of work flow for programming, which could seriously speed up game performance, and development time. This is a feature present in Unreal Engine, and Unity, so I'm very glad to see that it's being implemented in GM as well. EDIT: Just thought about this, but this could also be their new system for drag and drop, much like Unreal Engine has the visual programming with nodes. GM could be doing away with the childish and unprofessional drag and drop system they have now, and moving on to visual graphs and node "trees". Also, just something that crossed my mind, in the original teaser video, would it be so crazy to think that they produced that 3d logo, lighting, and effects.... all in the new GM version? That would be very great.

Saw this on FB Also, seeing a "Create" tab at the top of the code block is super exciting for me. Could we possibly swap between object events in the code editor through tabs? :O

I think they're taking quite a few notes from the Parakeet IDE that was made for GM Studio. However, they have it setup like this:
perform_create { //create event code in here }
However, I do think a step away from the current system is a good move.

Aside: for all that I've been clamoring for the removal of D&D, there's one really big reason why YoYo needs to keep it around: if you want to present yourself as a friendly way to introduce people to making games, you need to have something better than just throwing them head-first into a script window.

Little tiny double post because this:
YoYo posted it on their Twitter (and I assume the rest of their social media) just now. Looks like a bit of the Object properties form and a tiny bit of the Room editor, and a few other things. Definitely rather different from what we have right now.

It looks like they went instance properties (in the room editor) > edit object > events > picked the first event > then ! Edit: Looking back at this post here was a little hard to tell what I was saying, I was meaning to point out when you click on the event, it looks like it takes you straight to code. I bet this is a advance mode or a code mode of some kind. Though this seems cool, it looks like it takes just as many clicks if not more. So idk. Still seems neat though, maybe it customizable.

We are behind a little bit, It looks like we are getting folder for instances in the room editor I'm gussing by this last one. Then tile animations also looks sweet from the one before. Looks like there's going to be a lot of new features. I been just checking here for all the screenshots, forum.yoyogames.com/index.php?threads/time2meetyourmaker.9641/
